With school being out for summer, you may already be out of ideas
or ways to keep your kids entertained and happy throughout the day. There are
only so many times you can tell him to “watch a movie” or “play in the yard” or
“paint a picture!”
Here are some out of the box ideas that are sure to bring some excitement to your kids day and provide memories they’ll never forget!
Have you ever heard of a transit tour? Plan a day to head to your
local city by taking all public transportation! Take a bus, train, ferry
streetcar or taxi rather than taking your own vehicle! This will keep your kids
exciting and going from place to place! Stop along the way for a picnic lunch
in a park or by the water! When you’re in transit, take lots of pictures that
you can make a scrapbook from!
“Geo-caching’” is another interesting activity to do with your
family and friends. Gather all your friends and family to your place and ask
them to arrive with five to ten small items and some water bottles. Set out on
a treasure hunt at a local ravine, this is an activity fun for all ages! You
can also incorporate a conservation trail walk into your day!
As we all know, sometimes our outdoor summer plans get put on
pause to Mother Nature! There will be some rainy days! Museums and galleries
are a great way to spend the day indoors. You can take your children to your
nearby museum or gallery and let them learn about local history.
